Devlog Week 2

Hello and Welcome to this weeks Devlog!

Another Week passed and we have done pretty many different Things.  We all added text or corrected text in our Documents like the Tech Document and the Game Design Document. We worked on Prototypes, Blockouts and some diffrent art related aspects like the Art Bible, Textures and RFX Examples.

Programmers:

Our Programmers mainly focused on making a playable Prototype.

Ward worked mainly on a playable fun Prototype. He implemented the input of a controller. It still has some kind of issue that it randomly chose to walk in another way than it suppose to.

Wout made and uploaded the meeting notes and then worked on some Prototype parts. He made the Triggerbox hitting for the Combat part of the game. Currently in Progress is the camera and the headbutting.

Artist:

As for the Artist we had like 2 different focus points. We have to make our Art Bible, because this is what will be guiding our artstyle throughout the rest of the project. The other thing we have to do was to build like a Level Mock-up and Blockouts.

Joan mainly focused on the Art-bible. She started to Design the Pages and create most of the necessary Pages. Then she filled out most of the Pages that were already discussed through out the weeks before.

Bram searched for more References for the Art Style. Then he made a substance painter file setup and guide to easily create stylised textures for our Meshes. He then made some basic models to represent what props will look like from which he created a levelmockup and experimented with colours and values. He also created the shader which will be used for our game. He also added these things to the artbible.

Mauro spent most of his time working on the gamedesignmodel describing all elements that our game will be made of. Then he made a block out of our character and tried out Mixamo animations and adjusting one of them himself. He then added more aspects to our Tech Document like our team, an intro and controller. After he was done with that he experimented with different possible void materials for the game.

Felicia made some sketches for the RFX for the game and put them on the Art Bible. She focused on how they will look and how they will be shaped to fit the Art Style. Also looked into the explosion and the Lightning. Lightning was a bit tricky as she tried to have it travel in a circular arc, but the ribbon kept connecting wrong.

And that concludes this weeks devlog. See you next Week.
